Night Shift Hygiene Operator/Cleaner
About the Role:
As a Hygiene Operator for an industrial/food processing clean-up crew, you will be part of a team ensuring the operational hygiene of the largest Food Processing facilities in the country. You will be working in a multi-skilled role and be exposed to specialty cleaning equipment and processes on a permanent basis (approximately 40 hours a week). The role is a night shift position located in Takapau, Central Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Performing duties as per the 10 Steps of Cleaning, relevant work instructions and associated risk assessments to deliver a clean area both visually and microbiologically.
- Completing all tasks accurately and efficiently within desired timeframes or deadlines
- Complying with all employer and host site/client safety regulations, policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Following all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to work instructions and/or safe operating procedures, incident reporting, hazard identification, risk management, etc.
- Wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing as operationally required, taking care of company property, and reporting any damage or faulty PPE.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Ability to get to work in the night shift.
- Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift (6-8 hours).
- Ability to frequently and repetitively squat and extend arms.
- Ability to kneel for extended periods.
- Ability to push trolleys with up to 350kg of product.
- Ability to carry chemical drums weighing up to 25kg.
- Ability to carry and move industrial hoses weighing up to 25kg.
- Repetitive moments of hands, arms, and elbow.
- Previous commercial/industrial cleaning experience (at least 1 year)
- Having sound knowledge about Health and Safety and First-Aid would be highly regarded, but not essential.
